Laurus nobilis
The bay tree has its origin in Asia Minor from where it
spread a long time ago to the Mediterranean area. The Bay tree
grows wild up to 15 m high. During blossom the bay tree carries
yellow-greenish white flowers with a dark violet beerie.
Culinary Uses
Bay leaves or laurel have a strong and warm bouquet.
Its best know in bouquets garnis, soups or stews.
Bay leaves refine sauces like the Italian Béchamel or tomato
sauces for pasta as well as seafood.
